About Isobel Raven

Isobel Raven is… the alias of the highly acclaimed UK based Composer/Performer Laura Cannell. Under the moniker Isobel Raven, she has composed several albums for the Sony/EMI/KPM Production Libraries as well has having her other compositions used for Film & TV sync through her publishers MuteSong.

With a background in medieval, baroque, renaissance, traditional folk and contemporary experimental music, Isobel Raven crosses boundaries and centuries to evoke emotional and atmospheric music. Raven’s sound is deeply rooted in a contemporary view of ancient sound worlds. You won’t find a twee version of Greensleeves, but you might find their darker witchier cousin who has been wondering the hallowed halls of the castle with a violin collecting sonic fragments to re-imagine a new sound world, which speaks of the past and the future.
